Blog of Rebekah, mom of Ricky, 17 years old. Ricky has cystic fibrosis, bipolar disorder NOS, multiple learning issues, Asperger's Syndrome, a seizure disorder, and a connective tissue disorder.
Yesterday Ricky went downstairs to do pulmonary function tests (PFTs) in order to find out whether he is ready to come home yet. The verdict: Not yet. The doctors came and told us later that, in fact, his lungs are back to where they were upon admission. *sigh* That's what happens when you don't do your vest for a while because your tummy hurts too much...
So the plan is to check his PFTs again on Monday to see if he's ready to come home then. He may be sprung on Monday.
His tummy is still a bit distended but is way better than it was. You can bet he's not refusing his Miralax anymore!
So, that's where we are at, for now.

Pity the chest treatment won't work to get his bowels moving better!
Bless his heart. I'm so sorry for all of you. I pray you get a different result on MOnday.
